By connecting research activities and actively developing the international scientific exchange the member institutions of the Northwest Marine Research Association intend to set up a scientific network for dialogue, collaboration and excellence the field of marine and maritime research. One instrument to support and extend networking is the NWVM guest scientists database.
Another results of the Office´s activies is the international and interdisciplinary NWVM conference "Between use and protection of the marine environment -knowledge generation in interdisciplinary research contexts" which took place in November 2013 at Hanse Wissenschaftskolleg (HWK) in Delmenhorst.
The Office for Guests Scientists' main task is to support the international scientific exchange within the Northwest Marine Research Association
- by designing strategy and concept on international research activities within the Association and implementing first measures,
- by supporting guest scientists as well as the member institutions themselves on international exchange activities,
- by creating and fostering an international network, scientists and member institutions of NWVM can both profit from.
As we also address internationals we keep this part of our website entirely in English.
